My name is Aude, and I’m an illustrator based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Though originally from France, Scotland has been my home for many years. Its stunning landscape and wildlife are my greatest sources of inspiration and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

As cliché as it might sound, I love to draw. I always have, and I always will. But maybe more importantly, I love stories! I love reading stories, and I love telling stories.

To say that I’ve taken the long and winding road to becoming a professional illustrator would be quite the understatement. Life can be funny like that. I first studied and worked in film, TV production, and then web and graphic design, creating a variety of visual stories. This was followed by a few years studying cultural and historical anthropology and listening to other people’s stories. I then made my way back to art, building and running a successful small embroidery business. When that business grew too big for just one person to manage, I knew it was time for a change.

That is when I decided to give illustration a proper go and I have been thoroughly enjoying it! It feels right in a way that my previous endeavours never did, and I couldn’t be happier.
